Food NET Project
Food Social Sensor Network.
Food NET is a research and innovation project in the field of Smart Living and Communities. The project consists of a platform to provide guidelines and technologies aimed at creating accessible and effective functional food for over 65 citizens of Milan. The nutritional conditions of the target are evaluated from a social, historical, psychological and medical point of view and the data collected is integrated with the characteristics of lifestyles in order to interpret their nutritional needs.

Description
The main objective of Food NET is to promote process and product innovation of agri-food companies. In particular, the platform supports the production of functional foods to improve the quality of life, according to new nutritional models and innovative educational processes. Food NET enables a circular information system and monitors the nutritional status of the metropolitan city where the citizen lives. The project supports product innovation, experimenting with new molecules and matrices, and creating new foods, whose effect is tested on the body. It will also help undertaking producings, thanks to their positioning on the platform, and to make territorial intervention strategies operational, connecting the business system with institutions and citizens.
